Bridesmaids’ dresses in antique rose inspired vintage glamour and a colour palette of warm neutral tones and romantic mauves. Wedding bouquets of soft roses were a perfect choice, though lilies were also a must, with this being the flower that James often gifted Sarah with.
With the absolute waterfront views and lush tropical gardens of Villa Botanica in Airlie Beach, James & Sarah’s wedding was bound to be a glorious affair. Complementing the natural surroundings, Sarah walked down an aisle of natural toned rose petals lined with tropical bamboo posts boasting sails of flowing white chiffon. As Sarah arrived next to James, the front and inside of Villa Botanica’s Pavilion held drapes of white chiffon for a softening affect, and their LOVE was for all to see with white L O V E lettering placed across the altar. Floral features of lilies, orchids and roses completed their Ceremony scene.
After-Ceremony celebrations were held on the vast lawn area of Villa Botanica, which was adorned with small clothed café tables, with simple floral arrangements on each. Classic white umbrellas provided shade and we also created focal features; A bamboo shelter was draped in white chiffon curtaining, and housed modern white gloss coffee tables and glamour ottomans, for a relaxed seating area. Strands of thin ribbons hung throughout the gardens with single orchids and rose petals delicately placed throughout.
James & Sarah wanted to add a touch of formality and glamour to their cocktail style reception and with the stunning hand sewn crystal embroidery on Sarah’s dress, it was only natural that we bring in an element of sophisticated luxury with our beautiful range of crystal lanterns and vases. The reception entrance via an intimate rainforest bridge was bejeweled with hundreds of hanging crystal bead drops on either side intermingled with delicate drops of single flowers, backed by the soft romantic glow of hanging and pool-side lanterns. A similar theme carried through into the reception, with the addition of clustered cut-crystal glassware containing roses in soft mauve, pink and cream tones, along with crystal lanterns in varying shapes and sizes. Mirrored bases magnified the romantic candlelit ambience.
Living in Brisbane, I was very lucky to have Vanessa from I Do Events Whitsundays style the wedding and liaise with the local florist and venue on my behalf
